The 6 speed on Lexus on the passenger side seems to pull and release the first three gears and cannot fathom what is happening.

The symptoms is quite evident catch release jerk in low speeds and low gears and only on the passenger side - I was wondering if its a CV or a worn out wheel bearing. The car was dumped back to me by wife once she bought the ModelY and she doesn't remember anything like most women drivers. Drive it and have someone fix it although she told me she could have gone over a curb on that side.

Any thoughts on what could be happening - took it to my local shop and he thinks its the transmission and nothing to worry about but I think its a bearing.

can you pull the trans fluid pan and see if there is anything to be concerned about?
This is one thing I promised myself long time ago to never do - I did pull once a Nissan pan and there was nothing other than some grime on the magnets. I ended up cross threading a few bolt and promised to never ever drop the pan.

Try to do a trans fluid replacement? then adjust the fluid level.
There is no dipstick, so you have to check Youtube on how to do it with temperature.

Yes the transmission fluid ever been replaced? If no... then maybe it's not worth doing it.

Yes, I have a 60K regime for transmission fluids - do a complete return line flush. I shall check the levels there could have been an error on my end - did the last flush 6 months ago.

They do tend to shift a bit rough when cold. Mounts wear a bit over time too, but for the amount of expense and hassle, I'd live with it.

Have you adjusted the fluid level?

I rechecked the level and obviously it was low by 1/2 QT. Raised the car put a 4 feet level on the driver door pedestal got it level and then bought the car to 110 degrees nothing came off the drain plug. Cooled car dropped 3/4QT and redid and then a long trickle came and stopped. Amazing how this 1/2Q made such a difference, the car is smooth and low gear jerk/banging is gone. There is a slight hangover on then 2->3 gear but the low gear jerk is resolved. Thanks Critic for pointing out a possible level incorrect issue.
