Lets talk about Bourbon

Just found this at the local shack. I was eyeing another bottle of Old Forester 1920 when I saw this a few bottles away. I’m a sucker for OF’s taste profile anyways, so I decided the price premium was worth the admission. I wasn’t wrong! Quite possibly the finest single barrel bourbon I’ve ever had!
However, I found out at least for me, neat has a much more preferable taste than on the rocks. Neat had a very mellow vanilla flavor and very little “bite”, even though you can clearly smell copious amounts of alcohol. After it was chilled by a large cube, the bite came front and center and diluted the vanilla aroma. I’ll not be adding any more ice, ever, but may try some of my rock cubes to chill it without adding water. Definitely is a great tongue anesthetic BTW! 4.8/5
I think OF is some of the best or is the best and overlooked i gotta hunt that down. I thoroughly enjoy 1920 I'm always neat and only Barrel proof generally.
Can I ask what ballpark price I'm gonna bet not to bad.
I got one of those from one of my local stores last year. I haven't checked to see if they have a new release for this year. I thought it was good but for me the Booker's and Stagg Jr are better. Not knocking your choice. You know how taste is... BTW, I bought 2 bottles so I have one more unopened.

I had an old friend pass yesterday. He was a fourloko kinda dude. I had one, and then bought this bottle to sip on. He was a good dude, and a good leader. Not bourbon but it’s **** good. Rest In Peace Brother

Plain ole Jack Daniel's , chased with beer. " Boilermakers". Quit drinkin & cigarettes in 2012. Cold turkey after 30 years. Wanna live to keep gettin my pension check !!!!! Took me 36 yrs to get it.

Too many guys died on the job from drinkin and smokin. Never got their pension. Didn't want to become another statistic like them. Gettin my pension now, and alive. Spouse's only get 1/2 of what I'm getting now. Better off alive, than dead.
I hear ya. Just giving you a hard time. I don't smoke and I figure a drink here or there is not going to hurt.
That was my problem. 3 packs of smokes a day, drank till I dropped. Typical Type A personality. Go hard or go home. I knew it would kill me. Bad enough I smoked for 30 yrs. I abused the crap out of my body, now I'm payin for it. Got lots of problems, back, thyroid, endocrine system out of whack, diabetes. I'll be 59, and fallin apart.
