It runs fine but only after it warms up. Almost dangerous how much it bogs. Haven't been able to figure it out. The frame is bent up front and pulls to the left rather hard. I just can't sell it with good morals with the issues it has. Hit hard in the front and back in the past so it looks good but under the covers it isn't. But I'm not sending it to the shredder it'll be saved for another day.

Its a nice car if it runs right, but you say it wont start for no obvious reason? But when you drive it.. peppy aint it.

Would you recommend someone to consider the 02 Focus as an inexpensive used car, or DONT BOTHER RUN AWAY TOO MANY PROBLEMS?

Hes right! You can get almost $1000 for a car like that that sips fuel. Maybe less given condition, but, still. Its a great first car! Their value goes up. That and Geo Metros, Suzuki Swifts, Ford Destivas, amd Honda Civic DX hatch and CRXs. Maybe even Toyota Paseo, anything tiny that sips gas. Dodge Omni doesnt count.

Never had a problem with the trans. It has the SPI / LX version though. I've pulled the pan twice but really needs to be done again. Up till the last oil change always ran PP 5w20.. that maybe what's in right now can't remember what dad did. It's not peppy off the line but it'll run 80+ mph all day long and then some. That SPI has some good torque. Yeah the no start when cold issue is a stumper.. although if I ground the coil she'll start right away. Focus's isn't bad cars although I'd stick with the Zetec and Duratec's. The SPI's are kinda a shot of luck as they can drop valve seats. The 00's and early 01's I'd avoid as my grandparents did have issues.

Oh and I forgot to mention the Aspire gets horrible gas mpg.. the Focus gets better.

My 2006 Grand Prix GXP that was traded for the Accord. Loved the car but it was a problem child and out of warranty so it had to go.

Those are the worthy cars of the fleet

I really like the current Accord coupe. Even more so than the last one. Yours look very sharp, and nice job on your mom's car.

Replaced the egr tube and fixed a few things yesterday. Trying to figure out why it doesn't want to start.. have a new coil on the way and hoping that's it as I did find a crack in the coil.

Only looks good in pics. My sis drove it from age 18 to 27 and you can tell.. swapped some yellow, white, blue and darker red paint sometime or another. I agree I like the first gen Focus more than the years after till the 2012's. Wish this one was a ZX5.. that trunk can hold alot though!

LOL naw I took them off! They had some cheap hubcaps on them.. so i just took them off.. surprised you didnt mention the missing side view mirror! Putting winter tires on those rims, and going to pick up some mags during winter. I already replaced the mirror. picture is a few months old.

The Prius:

It already has 16k on it and I have only had it since June. This picture was taken after waxing the car with DP Max Wax and dressing the tires with Optimum Opti-Bond. I am very impressed with the DP Max Wax and can't see myself using anything else anymore.

Excuse the mediocre picture quality. The Ranger seen in the background is a friend's.

The bumper covers and fender flares were repainted to black using Krylon Fusion satin black. The rear door was replaced by a junkyard door and repainted by a couple buddies and I; the Bondo job was done at Maaco. It previously looked like this:

Paint for the quarter panel will eventually get done...
