Hi, my mom's 04 Camry was damaged in hurricane Charley in the 2004 hurricane season. It finally got into the body shop this week to get repaired. My question is: is there any adverse effects of leaving 4,000 mile old oil in the engine for 3-4 weeks sitting at the bodyshop? Is the oil still safe to run for the remaining 1k miles? If not should it be changed? The car has 14k on it. Thanks in advance. oh yeah I believe it has Pennzoil 5w30 in it if that matters.

As long as water didn't ingress into the oil from the outside, you shouldn't have anything to be concerned about.

There is always a ton of dust floating around in a bodyshop, so I'd change the oil just to be safe.
I'd change the oil, oil filter and air filter as soon as I got the car back. Was any part of the car sumberged in water?
Why would you change the air filter? And no, the car was just dented by those aluminum things under a pavilion and scratched by shingles. It would be terrible if it got flooded.
It's not uncommon for some people to disappear on extended 2 and 3 week vacations, and this is of no consquence to a car in good repair. Plenty of weekend cars and show cars routinely go weeks at a time without being run, although batteries and tires will suffer in extreme cases.
I'd probably differ as to changing the oil and air filters. Yes, there's plenty of paint and bondo dust in the air, but it won't get into the engine while at the shop. Some dust may settle around the air intake, eventually sucked into the air filter, but it's probably minor in quantity. Often they'll power wash the engine compartment after painting, which will remove all dust except the incidental amount which may have floated into the air intake. Anything of consequence -- >20 microns or so for air filters -- will be trapped.
