Leakage under the oil pan

It looks like the oil level sensor on my Land Rover LR2 (w/ a 3.2 Volvo built engine) is leaking. I've search online and I may need an O-Ring to replace the worn out part to resolve this. Do I need to drain the oil to remove the oil level sensor? Thanks

I've seen videos where a shop vac is attached to the oil fill and it hold negative pressure on the crankcase, allowing a sensor change without losing any oil.

Never tried it myself to verify if it works.

I checked some videos on YT and it looks like I'm going to drain the oil. I have an oil extractor. The problem is I have only less than 2000 miles on the current engine oil. I will just re-use it. Thanks

I have used the Shop Vac technique and can attest that it works.

Oil will pour out to the level of the sensor.

how big is the leak, I'd consider waiting until oil change, maybe do an early change.

I have used the vac method ! worked for me as well.
