LC or AutoRX in new GC??

Will be switching to the new GC soon. Car has been AutoRX'ed; currently running maintenance dose.

Should I continue to use the maintenance dose of AutoRX with the new GC, or not.

Also, once all of my Auto RX is gone, can I ad LC to the GC?

I'd like to know since I just ordered some FP and LC, without thinking whether I could actually use the LC with the GC (I have 36 quarts of it).

Opinions?

Personely I would save any extra Auto-Rx for future treatments. I think that after Auto-Rx treatments were done I would use LC due to cost!! I would reserve the Auto-Rx for use every 50,000 miles or more!

The way I see it after your engine is cleaned of third party abrasives it should be easy to keep it clean. By useing a good synthetic and LC you should not have a sludge or deposit problem. The rate of build up should be rather slow with the above combination. I am pretty sure that I am going to be the only person to recomend this approach!If cost is no issue then by all means continue with 3oz. of Auto-Rx everytime!!

Qualifing statement: THe above is my opinion. I am not an Auto-Rx epert of LC expert.

My main issue here is whether board members think it advisable to tinker with the new GC with AutoRX or LC until we find out more about how GC reacts in engines W/O additions to it!

Of course, I certainly don't want my remaing stash of AutoRX (2 full bottles less 3 ounces) to go stale or to waste.

I wouldn't mix Auto-Rx & Lube Control in the same fill of oil. Other than that, it's a matter of pay your $$, take your choice. I'm a bit over 15,000 miles now on my fill of Bobzoil 10w30 w/LC, plan to change tomorrow. I believe(but can't really prove it)that using Lube Control, or a maintenance dose of A-Rx, can only help any motor oil. When I change my oil, I'll probably use Lubro-Moly synthetic 0w40(I've been curious about the 0w40 & 5w40 motor oils for some time now), & I'll *definitely* use ~5.5 oz of LC with it.

Use it w/the German Castrol 0w30? I can only say that if it was my car, I wouldn't hesitate to put in Lube Control, or a maint. dose of Auto-Rx. I just wouldn't use both at the same time.

I would run one interval of GC without either to establish a baseline of how it works in your engine, and then I would, as Stuart Hughes recommends, start using one OR the other, but not both at the same time.

We dino users have no such issue with Auto-RX.

We have found that "piston rings" and oil burning to be more closely associated with expander rings not opening and closing per specifications of OEM. Auto-Rx (or any other chemistry ) can't repair metal wear. Auto-Rx can and does "alter" the effects of wear, by giving clean metal for your oil to lubricate every nook and cranny.
You can expect a better compression rate as well as a improved combustion efficency after cleaning your engine per application instructions with Auto-Rx.

Frank, I've already completed an AutoRX treatment, the rinse cycle, and am now running Delvac 1. My questions is when I do change to my newly-obtained GC, should I add the maintenance does of AutoRX to it, LC it, or run it virgin?

I've not seen any messages on this bb (there may be one, however!) where anyone is using the new GC with the maintenance dose of AutoRX or with Lube Control. That's my question!

Since GC is so new to us we may not want to add anything to it until we know more about it. Just asking before I switch over to the GC IN A FEW DAYS!!!

pick up, mpg, overall performance. Than do the same with any other product added after next oil change. Think you will be able to post definitive
