I've seen imported Lay's before - from places like China, Thailand, etc. but it is kind of fun when they just have assorted flavors sold in the US. Those are generally priced the same as their regular offerings.

Right now they seem to have honey butter, masala, and "Wavy" tzatziki. I am kind of bummed because they had Cool Ranch previously, but I never saw it (in any size). I've seen all three of the current ones at various supermarkets.

Anyone try any of these. I got some on special, but the place I got them only had one of these three - honey butter. Apparently a very Korean thing, where this has been around for about a decade.

I forget which brand, but I got a bunch of flavored chips at a Phillies game this summer. They were small give away trial bags.

I wouldn’t go out of my way for all these flavors. But I would try the masala. I love a little sprinkle of chaat masala on stuff.

I can see and understand "Limited Edition" coins and firearms. But not food products. What they're doing is testing the market for financial viability, before they commit to dedicated full scale production and distribution.... (Which there is nothing wrong with doing). In fact it's very smart.

If these things sell well they won't be, "Limited"... They'll be everywhere, and stacked deep.

Should be good for PepsiCo stock. Don't eat any processed foods myself.
Read an article earlier this week that although still very profitable, PepsiCo is seeings it's earning fall for the first time in a very long time.

I enjoy trying the different limited edition flavors. Motivates me to but the chips when I would not otherwise.

Chick fil a now offers waffle chips as a fries substitute. Tried the CFA chips last night. Super salty, but nothing special whatsoever. Disappointed as I think CFA does a great job making their processed food taste significantly better than it's peers.

Worked for Frito Lay.
These are in general, in and out limited time availability products.
Caters to impulse purchases, makes sales pop.
Noticed a "more diverse" product offering the past few years.
Still looking for the traditional "Roast Chicken" flavour.

OPs in SF, Frito Lay is trying to reach an Asian-American market. Supermarket shelf space there is expensive!

LCOL areas also get test marketing stuff but it's more like quadruple stuf Oreos.

I still remember when McNuggets were a "limited time" menu item.

This is a national rollout though. I checked on the Walmart website since they have at least some basic indication of available inventory. The masala Lay’s are available in some locations in Arkansas. I only picked Arkansas because that’s their HQ. Available locations are spotty though.

Tried the honey butter. Actually pretty good.
