Ten times stronger seems like the most awesomest ever...😁

.Extended Protection builds on our advanced technology with the addition of an innovative booster for ultimate protection against wear and thermal breakdown.

Hey VOA folks, what is it?

That's great. So 10x stronger against oil breakdown. Hmm. Regular oil good for 7k. This oil good for 70k. Ooooo... aaahhh...

And if it's 10x stronger than the competition which is maybe 5x as strong, then that's 350k miles this oil is good for. Yeah. Simple math.

$25 for 5 quarts
$7 and some change per quart.

I'm intrigued.

Yeah they didn't price this $39.98....

That would never sell.

$25 is the ceiling for what most people would pay for 5 qt container of oil. Aka routine regular everyday prices they would pay.

At $27.99.... would be a slow seller. Like Pennzoil Ultra was at $27.97. Or Castrol EDGE Extended Performance for $28.68.

At least it would have a chance at selling at $27.99. Zero chance at $39.98.

Valvoline Full Synthetic Maxlife was advertised as having the best protection according to Valvoline, even better than Modern Engine oil. But since this new Extended Protection came out, it is now being advertised as providing the best protection.

I've seen it on their website but it just seems like another gimmick. I've used Motorcraft for probably a million miles with no problems

It's basically Valvoline's version of Mobil 1 Extended Performance/Castrol EDGE Extended Performance etc minus the longer drain interval recommendation. The 10x stronger claim is the same as Castrol's claim based on the IIIH I believe. 50% better wear than industry standard IVA. These oils are very close in performance. Including Mobil 1 Extended Performance as well.

I'm interested in the 5w30 due to it's HT/HS of 3.2 and relatively low VI. Should do well in a fuel dilution scenario.
