This was November 15th - Fall hung on longer than usual, but the snow has since arrived, and we're back on the fat bikes.

Great looking trail!

What size is your rear tire? Is that a 5"er? Looks massive. (Said jealously - my Pugs will accommodate no larger than a 4" on the back.)
Yes. The orange bike (Surly Ice Cream Truck) has a 26" Surly Knard on the rear. It SAYS 4.8 but it's a big tire.
My son's Growler fits 27.5 x 4.5. That's a huge tire. That bike will also fit a fatter 26. I think those Vee Snowshoe XXLs will fit in that frame.

My Pugsley runs a 4.8 on the front, and 4.0 back. Wife's Charge Cooker Max is limited to 4.0 front and back.

All of our studded winter tires are 45North.

It is a depressing thought. However, there could be warm spells ahead. I remember making a short ten mile ride on Christmas day 2023. The day was sunny and around 65 degrees in the Cleveland area..

Mr and Mrs 35 are complete bada$$es. My wife would NEVER ride in that cold. She's a southern girl. Raised in Florida. Never really figured out how she came to settle in NY.

I am very fortunate to have a wife who will participate in such craziness with me.

I bought my fat bike in the summer of 2015, to be used as a commuter the following winter. So I started riding it when the snow came, probably early November, and she wanted to try it. For whatever sexist reason, I thought she wouldn't be able to ride it, or wouldn't enjoy it. In fact, she loved it, and took to it like a duck to water, so I got her one for Christmas that year.

Hard to believe we've been riding fat bikes for nine years now. Tempus fugit.

Amazing. You're lucky.

We rode out for lunch today. Milder than a few days ago, but the headwind on the way there was brutal. In places we broke trail through fresh snow. It's about 6 km each way, and was slow-going due to the wind and snow. Probably an hour of riding in total.

For the foodies reading this, I enjoyed a burrito crepe with fried potatoes, with a side of salsa and sour cream.
