Filter upsizing is strictly a "feel good" mod. No proven benefits at all.

I have to say, this was the line that worried me the most:

There isn't a difference with intel hole count, just a different size filter.
I have seen some gasket mating surfaces have plenty of room for a larger diameter filter, i guess it depends on the application. If it seals, you are good.
If it doesn't leak i wouldn't worry about it.

I didn't notice any start-up rattle, I think I'm okay there. I just want to make sure it will seal, but I guess that's kind of hard to say.
These Altima's are known for start up rattle(and timing chain rattle too) when sitting too long(overnight or at work). It's just the nature of the beast! Even with oil filter that have silicone anti-drainback valves(ADBV), it didn't matter!
If the car was parked on an angle(lower on the Driver side), it'd rattle. Needed to park on level ground or lower on the Passenger side and it's OK!
With the oversized oil filters, the start up rattle was worst on my car. Better with the regular size filters. There's more to it than that but, you get my meaning. In other cars that I've oversized the filter, they were all OK Too!
