The tool compress to a minimum of 1.5". Do you think it small enough to a Toyota Venza rear caliper(single piston)? Does anyone have experience with this ratchet and Toyota rear non-truck calipers?

Yes a C clamp will work. A large blade screwdriver worked for me on the rear wind back types even though I have the pin adapter

Can't say i've worked on a toyota rear brake. But i have not found a front caliper that i could not push in with a c clamp or a rear one with a set similar to this, much more versatile.

I believe it is a push type.

Lang 279 $50! And don't you have to take the caliper off, remove the brake pads, reinstall the caliper, then use the tool? If I have the caliper off, I'm going to use a C clamp.

Harbor Freight has a caliper piston tool for $8.

On one-sided brakes without a parking mechanism, use a big c-clamp over the whole assembly to push the piston in before taking anything apart.

That's what I do on front calipers.

Sounds like I need to but $8 brake spreader tool for the rear and use the Lang 279 for the dual piston front caliper.
