Does anyone have visibility into the potential deals that Discount/Americas Tire will run for Labor Day? In the past it has been "double rebates" and similar, but I'm not sure if they're tightening the belt. My Corvette needs some new street/wet track tires and the ones I want are not on sale and have no rebates at present. Trying to decide if I should wait it out...otherwise I'm street driving Hoosiers. ;-)

I'm waiting to see what comes up too, but for some 33" tires for my 4runner. I got some Michelin PS4S tires for the Corvette earlier this year. If you sign up with them you will get email alerts on their sales. Lately they have been having weekly and bi-weekly 'flash' sales that average around $100-$150 for specific brands, but the sale only lasts for a couple days, and it has been with the discount tire direct website and does not seem to apply to in-store purchases from what I can tell. They have definitely scaled back the deals in the past year or so. I'm guessing it will be the same $100ish off everything they carry for Labor Day.

Just ordered a set of Michelin Defender T+H for my in-law's Camry. $110 instant rebate, extra $20 instant rebate and a $30 mail-in rebate for using their card. Not sure if it will get any better than this.

In past years, they had 10% off on almost everything, and would double it to 20% off if you used your Discount Tire card. Last year I think it was only 15% but still a good deal if you're buying expensive tires.

Correct. Ever since the DT/AT founder passed away, those types of promotions have become scarce. Policies have also tightened up. I received $160 off on yesterday's purchase and this was more than 20% off....at least for my situation.

Considering the fact that the average miles driven declined in 2020, and will likely remain lower for the foreseeable future. It’s a difficult time in the tire selling business right now.

While this is true, there is also a rubber shortage and basically two years worth of inflation is happening in a matter of months. This is even worse news for tire sellers, but it may mean they can't afford generous discounts this year.
