I have a Lumia 635 by Microsoft windows 8 phone running under Boost Mobile. If called it should ring, then go to voice mail and leave a msg., with an icon showing a tape and numeric number showing number of new messages. HOWEVER, recently I apparently got 3 calls that didn't indicate. The voice mail icon had no number but I played it anyway. Turns out I had 3 new voice mail messages plus some old ones. NO RING, NO ICON, ETC. tHOUGHTS

I have a different carrier (verizon), but every phone I have had with them, this was a requirement to get the voicemail indicator to update.

My mother in law was not receiving calls/vms/txts with her iPhone 6+/Verizon. I told her to reboot. Problem fixed.
These phones are just mini computers, same basic troubleshooting applies.

I don't think the problem is the carrier. Many phones have had complaints of the notifications not showing up for texts or voicemails. I know somebody lost a job offer because they didn't know the employer had called and made the offer.

I have a 630 Lumia with ATT/Cricket, its been rock solid for almost 1.5 years now. I way prefer it to my work provided Verizon iPHONE. Not that the iphone isnt a rock solid phone, I just prefer my rock solid Lumia more.

Had a similar issue once on my Lumia 925. As others have reported, reboot it. That was always the first stop on glitches like that...
I will state that I have since switched away from the windows phone. Loved the operating system. Hated the lack of apps - I've been amazed at the things I can do on my new phone.
