98 Buick LeSabre . Had nee ball joints, outer tie rod ends and seay bar links put on,old ones beging shot..past week only going over small holes, manholes, thiers a very audible Shriek noise. Passenger side only. Struts on now were put on 2018 or 19, kyb plus struts. 30,000 miles I estimate on them 7 years. Pulled strut caps off, pushed car up down,it stayed stable but both mounts had very little movement ..they did bob up down just visibly . Took to mechanic showed him..he thinks it's normal, not really worn mounts. He inspected bushings, e returning, mounts last week putting ball joints ECT on..nothing's wrong underneath my car .so everything is pointing too the struts now.
Hed put them on for me if I buy them.mechanic at a no cash no credit ,you can get a car place
Been in his shop few times,as I've done my own struts ECT...not allowed to mow landlord.
Should I get....advance auto premium struts? Or kyb plus? Know the kybs are better known suitable for streets.our streets often not smooth at all .
Kinda wanna try the advance ones.
I learned way back 90s, aftermarket struts 30,000 miles 7 years max from my dad and another mechanic.srrms they were right.

Squeaking noise? Turn up the radio. Seriously if your mechanic says that nothing is about to fall apart, just ride. The important thing with a 25 year old car is spend as little as necessary.

Advance Auto doesn't manufacture anything, so your question doesn't make sense in the first place.

Well, tonight I drive over a curb twice .passenger side, thiers a very audible noise,it's metal for sure...it makes this weird noise, like it's from top of strut area .
Then goes away ..but ... I do indeed feel the street in driving wheel,a d through frame.
Last week, the mechanic and owner told me,they think thiers something wrong with the buicks frame. It's an old car now..
If 8 drive into a manhole cover,or small pothole it makes the noise strut area passenger side..and the street is felt through steering wheel...
I had new subframe mounts put on 3 or 4 years ago..think this might be the cause? Bad subframe cushions?

Well, first mechanic recommended ball joints, outer tie rod ends, sway bar links..he was indeed right about it. 2nd mechanic installed them for me,old ones were beyond shot..only rubber was holding ball joints in Thier place depressed, no grease.
Original mechanic also recommended new control arms . Mainly the bushings...thiers 166,000 miles on them now . The 2nd mechanic looked at them with me under car, used large pry bar,Thier was no wear in any bushings n arm .he seemed confident Thier fine, replacement not needed..
Driving tonight, itss fine until...a manhole cover....you can feel better t through steering wheel n body. Speed bump slow, sometimes an audible clunk..it sounds from mid to top passenger side, often mid area. The car does not bounce, parked n.pushed on. Kyb plus struts are 7 years old 37,000 miles, parked outside exposed extreme heat, and 24 degree temps winter..im feeling, the mounts are shot .

I've had the subframe bushings replaced, aftermarket dormans, about 4:years ago and 24,000 miles or so that time frame .

Sure, but might want to check.

Foot tight on the brake and put it in gear. Give it gas, keep on the brake so it doesn't move. Do the same for reverse. It helps to have someone to watch the specific parts, but you'll be able to tell real quick if it's a motor/tranny mount or subframe bushings.

Shock mounts, as you mentioned, are also a potential culprit of the problems you described.

Any small pothole, any uneven or crack d area or more d,is felt through steering wheel ..
Struts mounts,or control arm bushings? its all felt going good very manhole covers, speed bumps slow,n through steering wheel.
Control arms bushings bad too maybe?

Well, if we're looking at anything on the suspension, there's also sway bar bushings. The rubber can squeak as the sway bar rotates. A few companies offer polymer types, but those require periodic lubrication. Blue in color usually.
