I have always had my vehicles done in the late spring/summer and have driven them all to the scrap yard years later with 0 rust.

Even our 1986 Dodge Caravan that saw 22 winters and 1/2 a million kilometers was rust free when we scrapped it.

500K KM in a first gen Caravan?? That deserves an automotive torture medal! We had one like that at my old job, it was a parts runner that went 1/2 mile/1 KM between our buildings, I'm not sure it would have made it any farther. That was an '85 in 1994-96!

500,000 KM? You, sir, deserve a trophy.

It was actually 460,000km but close enough. Especially on the terrible terrible Mitsubishi 2.6L 4 cylinder oil burner. It would burn 2 quarts every 500km by the time we retired it.

We had a 1989 I believe with the 3.0 V6 it burned oil like crazy once my dad towed the boat with it, people would roll up their windows at stop lights!

Most places charge $500 for a "hard" spray. It's a "one and done"....but the consensus is that those types of "rust proofings" are actually doing more damage than good.
You have to apply Krown every year.

On a new vehicle if you want to keep up with their warranty.

Personally, and although I live in Canada, I usually get it done every year but sometimes I skip a year depending on how harsh the winter was before?

My wife's Impala, which I had sprayed last November by Krown, still drips out of the truck and hood a little bit. Although I will likely get it done again soon because its a fairly new car, and I'm anal, I am still questioning if it really needs to be done?

Of course seeing it still drip in these places tells me they did an excellent job initially, which I also thought right after I picked it up, so, depending on how it was applied, would also factor in with getting it done annually or not as well.

Is there any potential issues with OEM warranty claims if you Krown a new car?

Krown guarantees it will not void your OE warranty. They request that if a dealer is trying to deny warranty to get them to put it in writing and their legal team will take it up with the OEM because they have already confirmed with every OEM in North America that their product and process will not be the cause of damage to vehicles.

They did this back in the 1980's after Ziebart had issues with their product causing problems with vehicles and OEM's denying warranty and folks then shying away from rustproofing products like Krown and others.

I'm good friends with an owner of a franchise location here in Ontario (Where they started) and he is one of their top dealers in the country. I have also been to Krown's head office to sell them stuff for my job so I know them pretty well. I'm also a big fan of the product and we have been using them since the 1980's. Just so you have some background.

Here is there video on whether it will void warranty:

No, and to add to what Stevie wrote, if they try, it is just an indication they are just trying to upsell you to the product they sell/use, which is a 300% markup than what it is actually worth, and it isn't half as good as Krown or Rust Check either. Google it.

Got an appointment for my son's new to him Chev Malibu for 10:30 tomorrow morning. My truck is going in at 4 and my wife's Impala next Wednesday.

For those that don't know, there is currently a $10 dollar off coupon Spring/Summer special until the end of August with Krown.
Since my wife's Impala will be our 3rd vehicle, she will be receiving $15 dollars off.

I know it's not a huge savings, but it's still $35 bucks in my pocket.

In Canada you can get a CAA (AAA equivalent) discount at any time of year. Just in case anyone is a AAA member and they offer the same south of the border.

That's what the lady was getting at when she asked if I was a CAA member. I never asked why but I assumed some running deal/discount but had no idea it was yearly.

All 3 vehicles are done now.

My wife's Impala was sprayed this morning.

When it rains it pours. Been a crazy busy week and it carries on again tomorrow with my son's front end alignment.

Love seeing that Logo. Might just get the Highlander sprayed again once we hit freezing temperatures for extra protection. Already had it done in July. Plus I can get it for next to cost because I'm friends with the owner of my local shop.

I have an appointment tomorrow to have the Ram in my sig Krowned. We'll see how it goes. $149+tax. I kind of dread the drippage afterwards, but don't know what to expect yet. I'll have to park it on my lawn for awhile I presume. I've got an asphalt driveway.

From my experience Krown never hurt my asphalt driveway. Yes it stained it, but the stains slowly washed off during fall and winter months. Later to avoid stains, I parked my car on the street (had to get a permit from city hall for overnight parking) for two, three days after application.

I wouldn't worry it about it at all. Have a beer when you get home or something.
