Alrighty, this filter is from a friends Yamaha R1 that was in use for roughly 4,500 miles. I opened up this one, and plan on comparing it against HiFlo's HF-204 to have some more in-depth comparisons between the two down the road. Here's the latest and greatest from, "The World's Best Oil Filter!":

Overall I think it performed quite well during the service interval. The canister was solid, the nitrile ADV was extremely flexible, the construction well done/sturdy, and the filter pleats were very uniform and not wavy whatsoever. They used a hefty amount of adhesive at the bottom of the filter end-cap, but didn't appear to be in the way or blocking anything.

This is also a direct cross referenced filter from my previously opened Wix 51358. The total media area for the Wix came out to be 39.046", while this K&N came out to 43.031". The K&N states they use a synthetic blend filter media, but are not disclosing any further information including beta ratio's. The Wix on the other hand is glass enhanced cellulose with a beta ratio of 95% @ 20 microns. Both are solid filters none the less.

I hear ya tratman2000, the appearance and construction of the filter is definitely impressive, I just wish they'd man up and list beta specs. I double checked the country of origin and it's indeed China. With them being built there I wish they'd be willing to drop down the cost of these filters, as they are kinda pricey (especially if picked up at motorcycle retail stores).
