KIPAC - Rubin Observatory - July 1st

When I saw the title of this thread, I knew it had to be from you @JeffKeryk . Not a dig, a compliment!

Been looking at the pics from the Vera Rubin over the past week. What a great addition to astronomical science.

Thanks for the heads up to the presentation tomorrow.

Walking on Stanford's huge campus is amazing; every lecture I attend leaves me feeling smarter and offers perspective as to our place in the Universe.

You're a lucky man to be able to do so.

Never stop learning! Life would be so boring...
I think many have the wrong impression of Silicon Valley. Our foundation is steeped in Science. I worked in SEMI, which refers to Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment development and manufacturing, which some call the most high tech of the high tech, because he do you fab a new chip without the machine to fab it? Kinda chicken-and-egg concept.

So I used Computer Science to work with this incredible industry. I learned a lot. When you are talking about the size of the traces in Nanometers, your mind just might be blown.

I love this stuff.
