i don't know if this should be a post about how well mothers cleaner wax works or how surprised i was on how a pure caranuba {s-100} protected, but after putting on a thin coat of the s-100 several weeks ago, today i was performing a routine wash on the wifes sante fe, and noticed several pine tree sap glops on the roof and hood of her vehicle. the suv is white, so i'm not sure how long they were actualy there. i'm guessing this past thurs, as we got some rain and she was working that day. she tries to park away from the other vehicles, as the thing is brand new, but sadly, this puts the thing underneath some loblolly pines. to me i'd rather work getting the sap off, then going the dent/ding route. thinking it was gonna be a real pain in the you know what to remove these glops, i put some of the mothers car cleaner wax on each, let sit for a min or two, and proceded to rub. straight back and forth, not alot of pressure. i was amazed on how easy this stuff came off. no residue or stains. not sure if it was because i got to em' before they really set in good, the s-100 kept them from really attaching to the finish, or the mothers is great at removing sap, but it was a pleasant surprise. i re-waxed the hood and roof areas when done, with another coat of the s-100. maybe these waxes have more durability then alot of us thought, and offer pretty good protection when applied every month or so. heck, lots here apply the synthetics that much. plus, i love the s-100. waxing isn't a chore to me. i actualy enjoy it. like to look at the vehicle afterwards. i even waxed my zrx kawasaki when i was done...heck, at least i get to drive that!
