Kicking myself

A buddy of mine is giving me his old computer with an ECS Nforce3-A, Sempron 3300+, and 2GB DDR400. I recently threw out an Asus K8N with 3 DIMMs and an Athlon 64 3000+ that would have been a direct swap for an extra gig of RAM.

Might anyone have an old S754 board with 3 DIMMs and AGPx8 kicking around?

I would like to make this a Linux Mint garage computer for repair manuals and internet access.

Better. I have a ultra small form factor Dell Optiplex 755 with a Core 2 Duo, I think 4GB of RAM, and an 80GB HDD I need to get rid of, if you want it.

I already have a nice enough computer, I just wanted a motherboard to use 3 gigs of the 4 DDR400 sticks we have between us, and the AGP geforce 6600 I previously gave him.

Well I swapped his 500W Antec into my machine, and my old 400W Thermaltake into his old machine. his old machine now fails to boot. The fans spin up and then just stop. The PSU wakes a bad scratching/whinig sound that it never made in my PC, nor does it when I load test it disconnected from the PC.
