OEM oil filter specs for a kia 2.4l pn 26300-35503
Who manufactures them? Kia?
what is the media type?
micron rating?
by-pass valve rating?
burst pressure?
flow rate?
bursting pressure?
media surface area?
pleat count?
Drain back value material?
I have a few on hand and would be willing to mail one off to get the data however I have no idea who I would send it to. I found a thread on another site where someone has the specs for a lot of filters and it is an awesome reference.
I have read the TSB about using the factory filter, and im going to be a hard head and ignore it. I would like to go with a WIX filter but only if it is comparable for flow rate, and bypass valve rating. The TSB the dealer showed me uses an example of someone using a super cheapo filter with no bypass valve and terrible design.. call me a rebal or stupid but I would like something a little better if it is out ther…
I have also looked at the dual remote bypass filters and I would really like to go with it however. Im a little unsure of the factory oil pump being able to support this without having a staging pump for start up pressure and that would add almost another $300 to the cost of the bypass filter set up. Any ideas or info would be awesome.
