I can't get past the price of NAPA Full Synthetic 5w30 for my truck. Is Kendall Full Synthetic Dexos 5w30 that much better oil that I should spend the extra money for a 7500 OCI ?
You have a zillion choices. I picked up Magnatec at Walmart on a sale and got 15 qts for $36 shipped. Its semi syn in 5w30 but pretty stout. Then you have that Dexos thing....
This is a NAPA crowd- price often rules the masses and it looks good as well and most likely easy to get...

This is a Napa crowd but I'd go with the GT1
ST is under $14 a jug at Wal-Mart now for synthetic.
I like the price of ST, but NAPA seems to be more favorable on here, which I too tend to agree with. Maybe Kendall, NAPA, ST in that order..?

Yes, Joel...you are.
The 6.0L LS engines have been out for many years, and have shown themselves to last a very long time in these applications without inordinate measures. No need for anything thick(er) here; any of the quality gasoline xW-30's around 11cSt are well suited.
The only caveat I'll add is that carbon buildup becomes an issue with age, leading to oil usage and noisy operation. Keep it clean internally, and you'll grow tired of fixing everything else on the truck before the engine dies.
Kendall is Motorcraft, nothing wrong with it, but it's not worth spending the extra money for. Go to Napa and get a bunch of Napa Synthetic and a couple of Gold filters while you're there.
I like to use the cheapest synthetic on sale when using a car with an OLM.
Its all close but even Amsoil testing indicates MC-Kendall and the rest of the line are not exactly the same.
Minor differences across the board.
