Kendall 0w20

All,

Just bought a new 2014 Toyota Sienna XLE with the 3.5L The Toyota dealer uses Kendall 0w20. I have been using Pennzoil platinum. Is Kendall 0w20 just as good? Don't see too much about Kendall motor oils around here.

Need a little schooling on the difference between the two oils.

What is toyota specified OCI? If 10,000, I would prefer toyota oil or other full synthetic brand names, is the Kendall 0w20 full synthetic or a blend?

I dunno why but I feel as if pushing the Kendall to 10k is pushing it.

10,000 mile intervals and Yes. Kendall 0w20 is a full synthetic oil.

Kendall seems to be a good quality oil. Here's a link to an analysis of their 5w30 from a year ago:

Obviously, the viscosity of that sample, being a 5w30, won't match up with the 0W-20 that your Toyota dealer uses, but the additive package will likely be similar. It's got a lot of Calcium, a decent shot of Boron, some Titanium, and even a little bit of Molybdenum. And it's NOACK score, a measure of volatility, is less than 11%, which is decent.

It's a fine oil...one that should easily last the recommended oil change interval in your vehicle.

Kendall 0W-20 is great oil. Here is a used oil analysis from my 2014 Explorer with 9,245 miles on it:

Kendall is one of ConocoPhillips brands. Not advertised nor distributed very aggressively. Very good stuff. The best of the CP products get the Kendall label, and some 76, Conoco, & Phillips products are the same.

ya the full synthetic should be fine for a 10,000 OCI

I've been riding the Pennzoil Plat. band wagon and want to stay with what the dealer uses for the free oil changes. Looks like the Kendall is a great oil! I will use with confidence.
