Have a 2020 Hyundai ELANTRA Limited for almost 5 years and 53,000 miles. Recently, the CVT (IVT) has been surging, slipping, and stuttering with poor acceleration. Noise, droaning and whining, have increased dramatically recently. No check engine light or other MIL to this point. Took it to the dealer as it, of course, is still under warranty. Didn’t find anything “unusual” but did perform a TSB for a software update of the IVT and a relearn of the driving programming. I’ll give it some time to see if it makes a difference.
Wife is steadfast against getting another car as it will cost considerable money especially since the transmission will be under warranty for another 5 years/47,000 miles. I, of course, have other ideas😄.
Because we got this car after a total of a previous car, we could get most, if not all our money we spent on it back from selling or even trading in.
What are the thoughts of the forum?

P.S. I absolutely do NOT intend for this to be a Hyundai/Kia bashing thread. I actually think Hyundais/Kia build pretty good cars. I’m on my third because the previous two were totaled in accidents. Those two were trouble free.

Another 5 yrs of warranty, I would definitely keep it .... And meanwhile, I would use a thicker engine oil. 🤣 JK People!

Also Hyundai is pretty good with warranty work! Best I have experienced!
