I don't think that I could have ever cared less about a Super Bowl, than I did for this one.
Didn't even bother turning on the TV for it. In the past, when I've not cared about the game, I've still turned on the TV, and paid some indirect attention to the game. Not even that for this game.
The only good thing about this game, was that Daytona is next weekend.
Agreed.

Except that I won't be posting on a Nascar thread about a race that I didn't watch.

I agree but the whole point I would suggest there are no musicians in these acts. Only singers, I think that is key, anyone can sing and dance but the musicians have been put back stage like an instrument itself.
Today's singers like at the Super Bowl, it just an act with a singer and dancer, I mean we see that stuff now a days in an average movie, just an actor. The real talent is hidden behind the scenes now.

Groups like Metallica and hundreds of others, were composers and musicians with a singer, real instruments! Gone is that talent to behind the curtain, modern music is a corporate production that the public in many cases laps up like a dog. No disrespect to dogs. 🥰
There are no instruments in todays music.

I am an amateur radio operator. This morning I talked to an old timer who was dissatisfied with the half time show. He thought Frank Sinatra would have been better. I had to break the news to him that Frank Sinatra died over 25 years ago. So his second choice was John Denver. Explained he was dead too. His third choice was the Everly Brothers. Broke the news to him that one brother is no longer on the right side of the grass.
The half time performer for the Superbowl got dredged up last year as well. As to-why this guy/group/etc. I am not a fan of Usher what so ever. With that being said-the sound quality is always poor for these performances, the chorography was great, kept your eyes and senses busy.
Last year we had a group of "mature" guys on here complaining as well.
I am going to start a thread about threads that will get posted next week-it's that predictable on here.

Im not into guy dancing so it didnt light up my senses. In fact my wife and I were downright disappointed, where were the girls?

So your complaining the sound quality was poor, you didnt like the singer yet you are saying in the same post, that "the same group of "mature" guys on here complaining as well."
Well, welcome to the club as you presented a valid detailed complaint about this years performance!

I suspect that you and your wife are not the target audience and neither am I.

Time marches on.

The only thing I mentioned was the sound quality was poor. It always is. Back in the day anybody who has been to a stadium performance knows this. Guys dance/girls dance. It's entertaining and doesn't affect my masculinity.

You said you didn’t like the performer
Why would dancers affect your masculinity?

I prefer female dancers in cool outfits, my wife, male, or female in cool outfits.
In this case, they were no females and the outfits horrible.

I also prefer physically fit female cheerleaders in small outfits which most do as entertainment.

The music might though
Good one! I left the room before the music had an effect on my digestive system, causing me to hurl the nice dinner I just finished eating.

Somebody should just search for the thread on last years half time performance and paste it on here. It would save alot of typing.

Multiple players stated they did not know the overtime rules. One even said seeing it on the jumbortron when OT started was the first time he’d heard of them, that’s on the coaching staff. As boneheaded as his pick to be on offense first was, I think Shanahan didn’t know either.
Players don't call plays, determine strategy, etc and they aren't picking whether to kick or receive on their own. They are told what to choose if they win the coin toss. They are also told which direction to go if they lose the coin toss.

And to think teams don't have everything planned out, here's the situation the 49ers had already laid out:

Prior to the game, Shanahan said he and his analytics staff discussed overtime possibilities and decided that with Patrick Mahomes on the other side, it would be best to take the ball first because that also would mean the Niners got the ball third in the event both teams matched points on their opening possessions and overtime progressed to sudden death.

Watched it, had to explain the rules to all the females in the house more times than I care to mention. They enjoyed the HT show. I grew up when Usher came to fame. Know of him well and the other artists who came out at the end. Didn't faze me one bit as far as music goes, there could always be worse shows as this video goes over. Some of y'all just like complaining for the sake of complaining.

There are some conditions where it might be a good idea for the players to know the rules since the coaches might have a difficult time giving orders while a play is happening. Even the QB can't get headset communications from the sideline with less than 15 seconds left on the play clock.

It's hard to come to the realization that the world is moving away from (the Boomer) generation that once owned it........

BTW-nobody is going to watch a 44minute video.

It's actually enjoyable to watch to see how far we've come from the "Disney Extravaganza" & "Dog Circus" to great performances by Prince & MJ.

It’s great to have conversation about peoples preferences to the arts.

It just seems that some people aren’t open to other peoples opinions without somehow making others opinions who disagree with them sound inferior.

But it’s the people with closed minds that are less informed.
