Thinking about switching Insurance companies

Allstate has yet to pay the agreed upon amount for my truck which was totaled in May 2024. Now they ignore my calls and emails.

You can guess what's next.
I have heard Allstate and State Farm do that frequently. I have experienced issues in the past with State Farm myself.

Utilize the services of an insurance broker. They can shop for the best policy for you at the best price from many insurance companies which they represent.. You are just wasting time doing it yourself getting quotes from insurance companies. I departed from State Farm last summer after being with them over 25 years.
Do you have a broker that you can recommend? PM is fine if you don't want to put it on here. Thank you.

For my motorcycle State Farm wants $359 which was only a slight increase over the past year so I went over to Progressive and they quoted me $143 for the exact same coverage. I think it's best to shop around every 2-3 yrs but probably best to just do it every year. The days of being a longterm customer for many years have long since passed. In VA they ended the uninsured motorist fee so now everyone has to have insurance, at the beginning the general consensus was that it was going to reduce rates for everyone because they would all be insured... however that's been far from the truth and rates never dropped and only continue to increase.

Typically what I've found is that the insurance companies offer you a low rate to get you in the door so to speak but then increase it slowly overtime.
