Sadly Donaldson may do the same thing one day. I hope not.. I now like cartridge filters like on my VW. What you see is what you get. It's a sad world.

Never was a fan of cartridge filters especially now with made in Argentina and Brazil. Quality control is just not there.

You may love one model and get a crappy extra guard on the next...

Update ......

I gave a negative review of this filter on the K&N website. I gave it a 2 out of 5 stars and simply stated the issues and did not use words like junk or crap or I'll never buy again etc.

In the review i said I would still buy the 1002 model and some kind words.

The review was denied.... of course that is no surprise but shady in itself
