Are they any pictures of K&N filters cut open available online... ?

If no I will cut it open .. I have spare one...

the filter media inside my $4 ac delco looked better then that

+1 on jakegday's comment.. ive been using ac delco pf 53's, and hacked them open. I used and hacked open a K&N last year..the ac delco media loks WAY better and stronger than the K&N.

This is the great unknown. You can dig up beta rates and efficiency, but how is it filtering after 6 months of 6Kmiles?

Does look to me like it has room for more pleats. At least they are nice and straight for what that may be worth.

K&N filter is made for less filtration and higher flow. They make the TRD filters, so I'm guessing its all about what you need.

Mobil1 and Pure One for plain ol street cars.
