I used an STP filter. From what I can gather, they're at least not bad.
Anyways, the old filter wasn't too dirty, but when I held it up to the light, I could see tiny pinholes in it! Is this something that happens normally when tiny dirt particles fly into it at high speeds? I hate seeing holes in anything that's supposed to filter.
Perhaps I should rig up an oil bath as the first stage...
