Just changed the air filter in my Subaru.

I used an STP filter. From what I can gather, they're at least not bad.

Anyways, the old filter wasn't too dirty, but when I held it up to the light, I could see tiny pinholes in it! Is this something that happens normally when tiny dirt particles fly into it at high speeds? I hate seeing holes in anything that's supposed to filter.

Perhaps I should rig up an oil bath as the first stage...

Not sure what brand the old filter was (car is new to me), but it did say "Made in USA" on it. New filter did not have holes, whew!
