Thank you for choosing Los Pollos Hermanos! May I take your order?

You know if you still had the Volvo, you'd fit right in.

"How much will you pay me for this car? $100? Call it $50."
"Are you sure about this?"
"Sure as shootin'."

(returns with Dodge Charger fresh off showroom floor, then buys son a PT Cruiser, then a Camaro.)

There will be a 3rd Volvo.

Also, I look like Fring....

Good for you. Now get out from under the looser mentality that you should only work enough hours to still be sucking off the system. Fast food might not give you a living wage, but it gives you a start to something and gain responsibility and then a path forward.

Why not write some goals down and share them with us in a separate thread?

Goals are always a good thing. Even if you revise them before you get there, it is wise to think ahead and find yourself working towards something, instead of just getting by.

At the risk of hating myself--what's the plan on fiances? If you can, I'd like to recommend putting 10% into savings (for whatever), and 10% into retirement (if not more). And of course budgeting for the rest of life. Might be vastly better advice for that thread (if it ever gets created), but did want to state it.

Dude, not even close. Walt Jr already had the PT Cruiser that Skyler bought him like a whole season ago. Walt comes home in a Chrysler 300, not a Charger. As soon as they get home, they decide to trade in the PT Cruiser for a Dodge Challenger, not a Camaro.

I need to get home and make that separate thread.

I should have stated, "budget for the rest of life's needs" not "budget for the rest of life". Using a budget for life is good, but what I was after was making good goals for affording all the other necessary things.

Its very interesting. We have a friend(single mom lost husband in Iraq) who we found out uses the system for the benefit of her children. She is capable of making a $50/hr++ wage as licensed speech therapist. However instead decided to homeschool her kids. Her income dropped enough(she works 4-5hrs/week) that the state offers free health & dental insurance for children. Her older daughter goes free boat ride to a top tier in country private boarding school(Phillips Exeter Academy) due to low income. However her daughter is incredibly bright and educated from a dedicated mother.

Its leeching off the system however at the same time her offspring will likely attend top tier colleges and likely go places.

Not sure if looser mentality to better oneself on the system for a period to get to the next place.

I I am technically jeopardizing my SSI by working but I'm not turning down the opportunity to work. I have more information about what I can and can't do and why when I do get home.

I could very well be denied for the whole thing based on what I am doing working right now. And yet I choose to give it the good ole college try to try to be working to see where it goes and also that I cannot wait for SSI to give me money.

Some suggest that I am milking the system or trying to milk the system or things to that effect. Well, I got away from some influences who would take nothing left in me attempting to get SSI and now I'm really asking myself what path is best.

if I can work and be a self made man and get a successful business going to wing whatever I will happily tell SSI to take a walk. I even know of someone who used the SSI money to start a business paid SSI back and its now successful livery company.

Working, focus is hard but even now I may be disqualified from SSI.

I will dig up the bed when I get home.
