You’re right. Both GC L and GW look so familiar at a glance I thought it was a Wagoneer L. But I could have sworn I saw somewhere that they were gonna make a standard “Wagoneer”(not grand) to slot between the grand cherokee and grand Wagoneer. At this point my head is starting to spin with all these new models and positioning, and the possibility of dropping the Cherokee nameplate.Grand Cherokee L is the 3 row Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer is a different vehicle. I'm not a huge fan of the styling, but I can tell you from a business perspective they will have no problem selling either of them. I can throw a rock in the work parking lot and probably hit 20 Grand Cherokees, and about 30 other expensive SUVs. It's pretty much all people drive up here in the North East.
apparently from what I hear FCA will continue to sell the current Grand Cherokee as a classic model(like the Ram 1500 Classic) alongside the new Grand Cherokee. As good as the current GC is I think it’s been around for too long and the technology is behind. Idk why FCA seems to be the only ones who sells old models as a classic for more than 1 MY. Never seen Ford do it recently and Chevy only made the Silverado LD for 1 year. Probably to run supply out/ease the transition over to the new model.
