According to the specs you posted either would be suitable for year-around service.

I've been using the Deere Plus 50 II 10w30 in several different applications with stellar results.

Kubota engines aren't picky and are strongly built and used around the world in many places where oil choices would be somewhat limited as compared to North America.

roadrunner1 runs the JD lube; I run the Rotella dino. Both of us use 10w30 year round.

Both of us have experienced excellent used oil analysis with those lubes. I know he uses it in his 6.0L PSD; I am unaware where else he might use it. I use the Rotella in my Duramax (excellent used oil analysis even with severe service factors), Kubota tractor, 1966 289-v8 Mustang, GL1800 Goldwing, various lawn equipment, etc.

Between those two, you'll never be able to distinguish any tangible difference in performance. I would recommend you choose by cost and east of attainment. In NC, you could easily use either 10w30 or 15w40 your round, as it does not get hot or cold enough to merit any real differnce to the Kubie motor you intend to put it in.

I see that Kubota finally updated their service spec requirements!
