Jack stand pad help

Hi all. I just picked up these jack stands and then realized I’ll need some “pads” for the pinch weld. I haven’t ever seen jacks like this before. Anyone use something like this? What pads did you use?

I've used those without any pads on certain cars like BMWs which have rubber pads already. Others that have pinch welds, just cut up a 2x4 or a piece of scrap wood.

When the factory jack lifts up my Subaru the lifting force is not on the pinch itself but on the edges above the pinchweld. The pinchweld just kind of holds the jack in place.

The adapters you can buy seem to put the lifting force on the pinchweld.

I'd put that stand under a suspension mount or axle, not a pinch weld. I'm have traditional axle strands that I use under those suspension mount points and axles without pads and lift with my floor jack on the pinch welds with a jack pad on it.

The best jack pads I have are pieces of conveyor belt I have from work. They are 3/8 thick and I cut them in 4x4 and 6x6 squares. If you can acquire any conveyor belting pieces they work great. They don't slip at all and don't mar anything.

Any jack or stand you use should match the factory jack for fit and location.
The factory (pinch-weld locations) is reinforced to prevent damage.

If I damaged the pinch weld area, that's just sloppiness.

That has been my experience as well.

I've been using these jack stands for over 20 years on my Toyotas, Mazdas, and BMWs. The first two use pinch welds and in moments of laziness I have just put the pinch weld directly on this kind of jack, without a block of wood. Not really a big deal.

Of course in my area, we are not barbarians who salt roads, though.
