HF use to have the red ones that were great, the black ones they say are rubber, pass.

Now you got me looking. I have black on one set of stands that I use a lot, and red on three sets that are used a little less often.

This forum has an obsession with using a floor jack/jack stands on the pinch welds. I have owned many different makes/models of autos and have never had the pinch weld(s) be the only (or optimal*) jack points.

*Optimal=best, not necessarily quickest.

I agree with what you're saying. The reason I like to use the pinch weld as my jack point is that it makes it easier to put my jack stand in a better non-pinch weld jack point that I actually trust not to collapse.

I see how this could have come off as insincere. I think you did a great job. I wish I would have paid more attention during my high school welding class.
