Again. OK, I'm close to where I've had enough.

Just had a nice hot bowl of grits and a mug of tea. Getting ready for the day.

Next, finish inspecting & fixing the chains I made for our little snow blower. I'm going to need them for that big icy patch at the end of the driveway from the last storm.

First thing outside, I better clear a spot for the dogs. The chihuahua doesn't have such good ground clearance.

At least we have power, what a blessing. I feel bad for those linemen that came up to the northeast to help us out (thanks guys). Only to have to return home south and start it all over again.

The greatest thing about my snowblower is scooping up dog detritus and hurling it dozens of feet.

+1

I have chains but they are still in the box. Maybe next year. Although by then maybe my snow cat w/plow will be all set.

We were due for a good/harsh winter here on the East Coast. Just stinks burning up vacation days soo early in the year. Then to stay in the house the whole time gets old quick. Rather safe than sorry though!!

Wife and I are home today. Were both still doing work though our respective facilities are closed. Washington DC is also closed. We have a good amount of snow.

Barely starting here. I felt bad staying home, but figured rather than waste 2-3 hours commuting and heading out early I'd prop myself up at home. [Nominal commute is under an hour each way, but in snow it can double.] They canceled school because they don't do early release here, only morning delays.

I am the crazy Texan that is driving around in it.

We had more than 10" fall in Chalfont, PA (and it is still falling). I know that you guys and gals that live in this grow to hate it but I had a nice drive in the snow on the way to the office. "Oh the weather outside is frightful..."

Clear blue sky here in NE Ohio.....

Working at home today as well. 11+ inches overnight in SW VA, with another 2 or 3 expected this afternoon.

Yes we have snow!!

We've been jerked around, weather-wise this winter. 50s-70s, and +9-15.. All in the same week! Yikes!!

Wife went out to go to work Mon. morning, weather was clear and dry. Went to let the cat in, slipped on the bottom step, sprained her right ankle, cracked a small bone. Called in sick. Tue. bad weather, university is closed, ditto Wed, and today. Possibly tomorrow. She gets paid for snow days, so she gets a week off with pay to recover and only cost her 1 sick day..

I have my own fun!

Couple of weeks ago the furnace failed, 2am. Called local HVAC co. 9am the man is here, this is "gas pack" external HVAC unit out behind the house. Did the usual checks, started to remove the front cover and poof, burners lit off. Guy says it will probably fail again, tells me what to watch for, 20 minutes, $95 and he's off.
Sure enough, a week later, 1am, house is cold, dress, stumble around behind the house, pickup the corner of the unit a little bit and drop it, thump! Nothing... Think about it, maybe 9 sec. give the vent a good smack with the flat of my hand and wineee poof! It's working again. WTH? Sunday at 2am again, dress, trudge, smack, wineee poof! Looks like it's the purge blower. Poo, big storm coming, part will have to be ordered, no chance to get it fixed before the storm. Failed again yesterday afternoon. Same drill, trudge, smack, wineee poof! At least I'm getting some exercise..

We had 6" of snow on Tue. 1" of sleet ice on Wed. and now 3" or so today. So here I set, wondering if I should go out and check the mail?

Uh oh.. Lights are flickering and popping on and off. Can't even send this post....

Wonder how hard that thing is to R&R??

Should be able to find the part on the internet..

Ive never grown to hate it, and it was VERY lucrative growing up...

Now, it's rain... rain and just above freezing. I went to take the chihuahua out. Last time out for the evening. Normally she's exuberant about going out, barking, dancing, joy at the prospect of going out. Got her little coat & leash. No response. She's a Philly rescue dog. "Ruby, time to go out!" She just gave me the look. The look that says (with a Philly accent) "Ya kidden' me..."

I think in the end it was about 18" total that fell over the week I was there. I was visiting the office and myself and one of my employees (out of a group of 5 who work in IT--there is a total of 80ish in the office) drove in. I teased my other four employees by calling them wimps for taking a snow day when the "no snow driving fool" made it in

Yes, it seems there are more lineman trucks with Louisiana, Tejas, Arkansas, etc. plates and company logos running around here than Peco trucks!!

But YES, a great big THANK YOU to ALL of them!

I go through Chalfont all of the time.

202 South slows to barely a crawl in this weather at the rush 3 hours, especially when you get stuck behind the loaded semis on the one lane sections and lights.

I feel your pain(s).

Just remember, we get it before you guys.

I just snowblowed again today for the umpteenth time.

We have over 68" of snow so far.

Just spoke to a hamfriend in Skowhegan, Maine; he can't get out to go to town; there is a 20 foot snowdrift at the entrance to his driveway.
