It's 1992- Which of these do you choose and why?

I would with out a second thought repurchase a 1992 extra cab 4x4 Toyota P/U. 1979 I would rebuy the Ford F150 6 cyl 3 on the tree XL . That p/u was a chick magnet !! 300,000 mile on when sold and it had normal oil pressure via the S@W oil pressure gauge. 2002 my wifes Ford f250 Superduty 7.3.

LOL! I guess that depends on how you define "best", I certainly wouldn't agree with that sentiment but I'm guessing my criteria differ greatly from yours.

Yep...

If I was looking for a new car in 1992 I probably would have drove off the lot in an Oldsmobile 88 with the 3800 V6. First oil change would have been QS conventional 10W-30 with an AC PF47 filter.

The Honda, practical, very fun to drive, dead reliable, reasonable purchase price when new, simple design, and inexpensive to maintain and repair. They can last for several hundred thousand miles with little effort to maintain the cars. I'd buy a new one if they still made them today.

I agree, because I own one a year older. I don't know what they did with those cars, but aside from rusting, the powertrain has been incredible. It is the one main reason that I am favoring checking out a newer Toyota within a year or two. I wanted to stick with GM on my next car purchase, but it seems all you get with them now is tiny engines with turbos and DI. Same with Ford. Thankfully Honda and Toyota kept the V6 engines (as an option) in their mid size cars.

Mine would be an Olds Trofeo:

That Accord was a truly great car. In 92 e36 was great small saloon, and AR 164, a real gentleman express, and way ahead of its competitors with handling and that Arese V6.

Had a 1992 car....built late in 92 but it was a 93 model. Buick Riviera. Got 32mpg, lived to nearly 240k miles with nothing but basic maintenance, was comfortable, and took me across the country multiple times.

The 3800 Series 1 was a rock of an engine.

Back in the '80 and '90 most Honda cars had very larger windows. They designed all their cars with lowest belt line possible and thinnest A/C-pillars too, the all around view from driver seat was panoramic.

I REALLY love those cars!! Those and the Toronados (I had an '87 Toronado Trofeo) were indestructible. I sold mine at almost 400,000 miles. Didn't leak or use any oil. Only reason I sold it was to put towards the down payment on a 3000GT. The 3800 Series I imo was leaps and bounds better than the Series II. Mine had a metal plenum instead of the plastic one the Series II has. Even with almost 400k miles on it,it'd still cruise at 120+mph like it was nothing. Smooth and silent.

The Accord without a doubt...for a family sedan, they handled very well, had good visibility, and were very, very reliable.

Good friends family had a 1991 sedan just like the one pictured; and it lasted forever and a day, spent a lot of time in it, excellent car.
