Lately it's been a large bobcat that's been working the rabbit population. Been seeing him/her in the mornings moving between houses.

I don't think that is normal behavior for a coyote to be that close to people during the day. they are usually pretty weary of people.

Nah, they'll do that to try to lure the dog away where more coyotes are waiting.

That said, I don't see the premise of the thread that coyotes are "creepy". They howl all around my house all night. I'm more worried about mountain lions because you'll never see or hear them. But in 20 years here (very rural) I've never had a close encounter with a coyote or a mtn lion.

We get coyotes walking through our yard during the day multiple times a year.

There are common bald eagle sightings here. I watched a big one sail across the lawn and snatch a squirrel right off of a cedar tree branch.

About a week later, we were sitting on the back deck at sundown, and watching the bunnies. A red fox snatched a bunny and make off with it.

I watch one carry a dead raccoon of of the road. He was working pretty hard but he got it into the field

I see Coyotes, Mountain lions, Bobcats, Black bear, Deer, Elk, Moose, and other animals pretty regularly on the security cameras.

I remember once I was driving a desolate 4wd trail, stopped to admire the view and err, uhh, relieve myself. I got this funny feeling, and turned to see a Mountain Lion about 30 feet away up the hillside, crouched down and watching intently. I got back in the truck quickly...

On the Nextdoor app, people that live in a more densely populated subdivision a couple miles away, are always putting up missing pet posts. A few people try to gently mention the wild predator population living in the area, and get attacked for being insensitive...

Maybe one day they'll realize that their little and sometimes larger pets are not necessarily safe outdoors.

Totally normal around here. They live side by side with everyone here in Calgary. Counted 9 pups around this one a few weeks after the picture was taken.

rabbits make divots in the lawn to snuggle in, its annoying turning a ankle while mowing.
