My truck is going to trun 10,000 miles next week. Since the weather is going to be nice this weekend, I'm planing on doing a drain and fill on the (automatic) trans, and rear end. I'm planning on using M1 in the rear and the Toyota spec. T-IV atf.

I told a buddy of mine my plans and he thinks I'm obsessed. Anybody else do this stuff this early?

oh, and I plan on turkey bastering out the power steering fluid and replacing with Mobil 1 ATF.

insane???

Sounds like the exact same thing I would do.( Retired Mobil Oil Sales)
Best of Luck with your truck.
It will take good care of you.

That T-IV fluid costs $3.75 a quart.

The parts guy sait it takes 6 quarts for a drain and fill, the owners manual says 2.1. I bought 7 quarts just in case. ouch!

I figure I'll use it eventually if it's only 2.1 qts.

Consider what vehicles cost and also what pro repairs cost, it is a good idea to replace as much as you possibly can despite the cost.

I do that, replace plugs, wires, oil, all filters, differential fluid, etc. etc. even if there is no urgent need to do so -- before things break.

Don't forget to pull the codes!
