Stumbled upon these filters at Wal Mart near work. Clearance price of $1.00

Grabbed last two of them.

The only metric thread can oil filters for USA market Toyota's I know of is for the GR86 sport car built by Subaru for them which has the 90915-YZZS1 part number and M20x1.5mm threads. Everything else is 3/4-16 thread.
You also forgot the Scion iA/US-spec Yaris iA - itself a Mazda2 and it uses a Mazda filter.

That is a Japan thing to list SAE inch fraction sizes in the millimeter decimal point size.
Well, yeah, I’m smart enough to know that.

All I’m saying is is that the Toyota, and the rest of the world, specs the filter in mm. The United States converts that crap & we call it 3/4.

I am sure "19.05 x 1.588 mm" on a spec sheet would be more confusing.
Whatever makes you feel better

All I’m saying is is the other 95% of the world has absolutely zero issue with the whole 16mm x 1.5

You do whatever makes you happy, but if you look at a filter from Toyota parts page, you won’t see 3/4”x16

A few you guys decided to be right a guy for no reason. And you can’t justify it.

No clue why you think this is a adversarial discussion. Not picking a fight for some non existent internet win.

Please keep this thread on topic. Not about some stupid thread pitch. Notified moderators.

So the thread pitch portion that you think takes it off track actually has to do with the suggested D3 filter. The D1 shows a 16x1.5 thread pitch. The D3 shows a 17x1.5 threat pitch.

So it’s still on topic. And just so you know they are interchangeable. I’ve been using a D3 in place of a D1 on a Toyota since 2008.

All I was asking if the D3 was longer than D1.

Glad you have luck with it.

Fram 3614 is D1 size
Fram 3600 is D3.
The only difference is D3 is longer.
Both use inch threads 3/4” -16 threads/ inch. No exact metric equivalent.
16 mm and 17 mm won’t screw on, and where do those even exist for a car oil filter.
