Is there a need for all wheel steering?

How many models 2023/current offer this?? That will demonstrate some relevance. I don't know of many but you can sure show me the light.
Optional on a lot of cars, Mercedes, many BMW sedans if you order the Dynamic Handling Package, also the X7. Lamborghini has it on the Aventador S and Urus. Ferrari on the GTC4 Lusso and 812 Competitione. Bentley. Lexus. Acura...its seems have become much more mainstream in the past 6 or 7 years.

I have it on my seven year old BMW 550ix...its nice for parking, and it does turn corners very flat, but I would not pay extra for the option...it just happened to be on the car I was looking to purchase.

Thanks for shining the light my way. I didn't realize so many ultra high-end vehicles offered this option. How often do you use it? I'm interested in hearing about the time it takes to park a vehicle compared to if you were to park the traditional way.

These are much simpler systems. They change the steering angle anywhere from 2 to 10 degrees maximum to assist with parking and normal driving for lane changes and cornering. They are seamless and always active.

It certainly works...whether the market says it wants it is another thing. But car manufacturers are out to make money and fulfill needs, even if marketing departments have to make them up.

Cool beans but you didn't answer what I asked. Not a challenge; I was wondering.

I did answer...you asked if I use it. It is continuously active...seamlessly doing its thing. Whether parking, cornering, whatever. So I am always using it, as you cannot turn it off.

If I am parallel parking or something. I note it is much easier and requires fewer maneuvering to get into a spot. It is not a huge time saver, just makes it easier with fewer corrections.
When driving "spiritedly" on a twisting road or taking a sharp corner, it corners very quickly and without drama...you don't really feel the tires loading up like on my Ferrari...just a different feel.
