i don't know if this has been discussed here before but im wondering is pennzoil synthetic blend 5w30 better than pennzoil yellow bottle 5w30 and if so why?
I know its dexos approved if that matters.

It is marginally better only difference I see by looking at the spec sheet is the dexos1 spec for a NOACK volatility of 13% (or less). I honestly would just pay the $2-$3 extra for QSUD.

For short OCI at less than 5k it isn't better than PYB, for medium OCI to about 7-8k it's better, especially it's only $3-4 more for 5-qt jug at WM. For another $2-3 more than Pennzoil Syn-blend you can have QSUD which is much better than PYB if you do 10-12k OCI.

Now, if you can get a 6-pack Pennzoil Syn-blend for $4.xx at Walmart (they price it wrong), then it's a much better buy than any conventional.

i refuse to pay a lot for oil considering i pay a lot less for our bulk oil but it gets messy because i do my oil changes in my home driveway because we are always packed at the shop.
