Hi guys & gals. My 04 Ford Ranger's owner's manual states that Motorcraft coolant is to be used, which I assume is the G-05 type.

The wife's 2000 Explorer uses Green coolant, per the owner's manual.

Can I use the G-05 in both vehicles?
Thanks.

Yes you can. I would prefer to flush the green out of the system before adding the Motorcraft, but the green is a silicate based coolant while the Motorcraft is a low silicate. The Motorcraft is superior in every way.

You can use it, but you have to flush the system before switching. Ford has 4 coolants we use green, gold (G05), orange(dexcool) and dark green (fl22)

IIRC, the only thing the reference says about not flushing it, is the change interval is limited to the green interval. So, you just dont get the extended life out of it if you don't flush it.
