Is Lewis Hamilton making a mistake going to Ferrari

First off congratulations on his win today in the British Grand Prix. I am not a big fan but I hate to see him leave Mercedes since he has been there forever and Ferrari is a bunch of screwups who make terrible strategy calls and usually fielding an inferior car. When this decision was made Ferrari looked stronger but they haven't had a great record for quite a while now

Depends on why he decided to move there. He no longer has the dominant car he enjoyed for years at Mercedes so why stay there when he can close out his F1 career at Ferrari, have that on his resume and their money in his bank account without any real pressure to perform? Sounds like a sweet retirement deal to me.

Ferrari, where champions go to die. God created Ferrari to train the faithful.
That sums up Ferrari perfectly.

I really don't think Hamilton needs more money and heck if a VW Bus was faster in a race I would rather be in the VW

Despite Ferrari's rather lengthy recent history, they're still arguably the most historic racing brand ever, with some of the most historic cars in the history of racing sport. While I'm sure he would love to win them a 7th Constructor's championship, I think he's going there more for the legacy of getting to race for Ferrari. Ferrari is a brand that stands on its own. Mercedes has yet to win a Constructor's championship without Hamilton.

I thought it was a mistake when it was announced. Mercedes is a top notch team. I feel like they are consistently better than Ferrari.

I'm a big Lewis fan but I did grow weary of him winning constantly. Feel the same about Max for the past couple years.... That said, I actually FF'd from about lap 40 to get to lap 51-52 'cause I really did want him to win. I'd FF to lap 45, see he's still in the lead with a good gap, FF again a couple more laps, and so on.

I remember Ferrari being the Almighty back in the Schumacher days. Boy how things have changed I guess.
I liked Schumacher but he played dirty alot. There is a line between trying to win and playing dirty. Shows a lot about someones character. I felt Vesrstappen was playing a little dirty against Hamilton back in the day, but Hamilton had such a superior car I felt he had no choice. I hope Max isn't reverting to his old ways. He still has a very good car.

Naw. Getting towards the end of his career and he probably wants a stint at Ferrari like all the others. Yes Ferrari race strategy has been wanting and LeClerc has had a lot of issues with his car since Monaco.

Remember Hamilton knew this past spring about LeClerc and his numerous DNFs from last year yet he still opted to exit.

The 2026 cars are going to be a lot different, but I still think driving for Ferrari is just a bucket list thing.

Too bad Sainz Jr is the odd man out.
