Is Lewis Hamilton making a mistake going to Ferrari

It was the car, Rosberg showed that. Even if Ferrari gets a decent ride for them, Leclerc will bully him.
Agree largely on the car part. But it's now quite clear Hamilton doesn't even come close to championship Hamilton. He's not got it, it's natural. Alonzo is quite the exception.

Not sure how you deny bullying in case.

Hamilton experienced multiple mechanical failures in 16, which cost him the WDC. There is a reason Rosberg quit after winning. I honestly think Hamilton doesn't drive as hard when he's not fighting for podiums. Saw it multiple times with him on Merc during ground effect. He wears his emotions on his sleeve. 7x WDC...anything that's not padding his stats is rather pointless.

Is there a reason why he didn't clobber Russell in equal machinery?
Some cars just aren’t suited to a particular driver’s driving style, just look at how every second driver struggles in the Red Bull car for instance. It’s a car that is suited for Max and basically nobody else can handle it.

Would hardly call Rosberg WDC material. He let Lewis push him out of the way. Had he been like Max and taken Lewis out a few times things would be different. Bottas wasn’t much better. Never had much respect for Button, but Hamilton didn’t seem to get the better of him.

2022 - First half of the season, Hamilton was working on experimental setups to try and fix the car. Second half of the season he essentially threw in the towel and Russell no longer outperformed him.
2023 - Hamilton beat Russell head to head.
2024 - Hamilton was leaving, so he wasn't vested in performing at Mercedes.

George made a big deal about beating Hamilton, but in the first season Hamilton was the one doing most of the work to try and fix the car and in 2024, his contract was up. George is a good driver, but he's not better than Hamilton, Leclerc, or Verstappen.

You can see this the F1 Points site.

Remember when Lewis went to Mercedes in 2013 and everyone thought it was a huge mistake? That first year with them he only won one race and the car was very tricky to drive. The next year the regulations changed and the hybrid era began and it turned out to be a very smart move for him to have switched to them. The same thing could happen again with Ferrari, next year is another regulation change and the playing field will be reset.
Not sure. From my perspective it seems like every team has their own culture, and a new driver may or may not adapt to it. It sounds like next years changes with half engine power half battery power is a bummer.

I'll admit, I like Hamilton (I tend to root for underdogs, in his case, his upbringing, ethnicity, etc in the F1 world) and have felt bad for him the last couple years with the Mercedes car and now the Ferrari. I do hope things turn around for him next year but changes need done at Ferrari.
Ferrari needs another Schumacher

By any metric I've seen and read, Russell outperformed Hammy while in equal machinery. I'll eat my words if Hammy wins a WDC at Ferrari.

And if Russell never wins a WDC, you'll never hear about this stat. Even if he wins, you'll probably never hear about it. Rosberg beat Schumacher at Mercedes. Rosberg won WDC. But guess which stat you still hear about.

I don't discount that Hammy was/is a great driver nor not realize Scum's greatness. But he is a whiny female dog about his parentage and Scum was the dirtiest driver ever. Rosberg has needs that are met, his wants are under control; he got what needed, and got out on top when he wanted. I hope Mercedes gets it right and Russell shows what he has.
