Haven't really heard anything about people using Kreen (Kano Labs, maker of Kroil) for cleaning anything other than automobile engines. So I was wondering, has anyone ever added some of this to their gas for OPE, and used it in a 2 stroke engine? At one time I used an empty plastic gallon jug that previously had MMO in it, to dump Kreen in there so I had a non-spill method of pouring it, and what I noticed the next day is that the Kreen had chemically attacked whatever type of plastic is used for the gallon jugs of MMO--it became hazy, "etched". So since this occurred, I am concerned about using it in OPE that has plastic fuel tanks, fearing that it might dissolve some of the plastic, and then this contaminated solution would get into the carb and engine and ruin it.
I called the company and the guy I talked to said there should be no problem using it for this application, but I'd like to hear of anyone else who has personal experience with the product. Correct me if I am wrong to assume the following, but since Kreen has been used safely in engine crankcases of vehicles, then I can assume it won't hurt the gaskets in a carb nor the crankcase gasket. Perhaps the type of plastic used for the containers MMO comes in is not the same as anything used in the fuel tanks for trimmers, mowers, etc, but if it were, maybe its apparent aggressiveness towards such plastic wouldn't be occurring with it being fairly diluted with gas at around 2oz per gallon.
