Is it hard to find a good filter with open louvers?

I'll go with a fleetguard LF3487 that should get away from this mann hummel bs

UPDATE:
Just ordered 3 of them straight from cummins. Local dealer either couldn't or wouldn't order them.

These a good filters, but i did have a few that had metal slivers on the threads. Not sure what was up with that. My guess is the tooling they were using was dull and overdue to be changed out. These are supposed to be stratapore version too.

They are solid filters, run them on the boat, which I previously mentioned:

These days, people need to inspect the filter for any visible defects, and also clean the filter threads, base plate, etc of whatever they see on them they don't like. Some people even put a shop vac on the base plate hole and suck out any debris that could be inside the center tube. Yeah, a bunch of filter nuts on this site, lol.

Took the boat out this weekend after an oil change with the new fleetguard filter. I got a nice steady almost 40psi now after that oil change. I wonder if that motorcraft filter had something wrong with it. Either that are it's just not hot enough because it would only be around 10-15psi at hot idle before. I always just blamed the gauge. I'm just a tad less than 40 now at idle.

If you don't know what the oil temperature is with an accurate oil temperature gauge, then it's hard to equate what's going on there.
