I do this as well. Breaker bars are cheap at HF and I don't know why everyone doesn't do this.

HELL NO.. I use a 24" breaker bar and while a crud instrument it will tighten them to a good 110 lb ft which is good more most any wheel.. while a torque wrench is nice it not need and thousand of folks use a bar..
So now you have to ask yourself, how did they ever change a tire back before they knew what a torque wrench was?
Gosh watch the videos of the mechanics in india or ? That rebuild all sorts of things and never use a torque wrench for any of the bolts etc.

If some people did that they'd run the chance of losing 10's of thousands $ with a car break in. I'm guessing all cheapy tools then.

constantly carrying a torque wrench in case you get a flat is like constantly wearing a condom in case an ovulating female primate overpowers you in your sleep. could it happen? sure. is the proposed solution proportional to the actual risk? good god no!
