is email attachment malicious?

Email went to spam folder. I use web mail. USPS does not send email to notify recipient of undeliverable parcel. But that is the message in the official looking email I received. The message also instructs a victim to print using a button at the end of the message. and take the printout to the nearest post office to pick up the undeliverable parcel. I just learned how to view senders email address on my web mail today. It was not a USPS address.

I have actually received 3 notifications since Sunday. I would have printed the notification Sunday but I am temporarily out of ink. Today I copied the senders email address and reported it to my mail provider.

99.9% chance yes. These are from the compromise on ebay I believe.

Attachment of Email in Spam folder is malicious. Never open any attachment from anyone you don't know.

How did the USPS get your email? You would have to have given it to them as a way to contact you for some reason in the past.

This is a scam.

Email is not that important to take a risk. If in doubt, always delete. If you delete a legitimate email by mistake, life will still go on and you will somehow survive. You might need counselling and some time off to "find yourself", but if it was that important you will somehow or other be contacted or notified. Sometimes people will text you or you may have a smart phone that can transmit and receive voice communications like the old flip phones. The party trying to contact you might also still remember how to mail a letter using the US Post Office. They can use a pencil and paper just like your grandparents used to do. They can make symbols on the paper that represent letters just like your word processor on you computer, tablet or smart phone. People still remember how to do that. So it's safe to say, no really important communication will ever be truly lost in space if you delete an email.

What sacrifices people accept in their day to day lives using Windows! Every spam email with an attachment, and a lot of spam emails have attachments, have to be treated like potential letter bombs? Would the public tolerate junk mail from the postal service where even one tenth of such mailings were likely to blow one's mailbox off its mountings, let alone take legitimate mail with it?

there was no parcel at the post office.

trojan.exploit was in a file on wifes log in. she uses facebook.

Delete the email. It is a trojan horse!
