I think most all of the oils are too expensive. Wait until gas gets up to around $2.00 a quart.

Ok - so then what happens after this coming April?

A local retailer in my area has lowered the price of the
old Havoline to $1.27 a quart. Which is the lowest that i've seen.

I'm sure that some here have seen lower, and some have
seen it higher. All things considered, I picked up a
case of the 5-30. I can live with a buck 27 a quart
on such a good dino.

I woulda bought every last drop.

I envy you guys, Chevron corporate is in San Ramon and I live 5 miles from there in Pleasanton, and Chevron has whole bunch of Chevron refiners in Martinez, sucks I have to pay so much when you guys pay so much less!!!

Everything in CA is just too expensive.

I agree!

I wish! Our Havoline back East is long gone. Curious, though, none of the New Havoline has made it here to either Auto Zone or AA near me.

Is ok, just bought more PP on the 2-4-1 deal..

Do you bother with PP for 2.80/qt, Bill, or is that too rich for your blood?

I just cleaned out all the AAP stores in my areas. So far, I got 6 cases of 5W30 and a case of 5W20 for $1.55 a quart.

I'd have to run $2.80 qt oil for 20k(if I use .69 cents a quart) to 28k (using 49 cents a quart oil) for it to break even.

I don't see any anyone running their PP 20-28k

and my UOAs on both my engines show low to no wear metals with the "cheap" oil @ 4-5k oci.

I'll stay cheap!

Take care, Bill

Last evening I had to turn down the $1.55 (AAP) Havolive I found. It was just too darn expensive for me to "pony up." I'm hoping it will drop more before the DS hits the shelves. FWIW, the counter monkeys had no idea was I was talking about when I mentioned the new DS formula... :shaking:

Chevron Supreme is 0.59 a qt here in the bay area. The key is to check out kragen's ad online on a regular basis. About once a month they have them for 59 c after rebate, maximum 2 cases per rebate.
