Anyone catching their GTX commercial that is running during the Nascar race at Dover. Use GTX to De-Sludge your engine and improve the performance of your engine. Gee funny how up until Frank pointed out how Auto-RX de-sludge’s your motor and improved performance, we have never heard a word from the big oil companies other than doing 3,000 mile oil changes.
Got to love marketing guys they never have an original thought in their heads.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if some of the motor oil makers have found this board. I doubt the GTX commercial is from this website though. Pure marketing BS.

The big oil companies are all full of sh#t if you ask me. I think Mobil is by far the least BS'ing of the bunch. Now Castrol is running ads telling people that deviating oil changes from the recommended interval change in your owner's manual can void your warranty. Hmmmm....Mobil 1 EP? Even though Mobil 1 states to follow your owner's manual, I thought that might be a jab at Mobil.

major oil companies routinely make a billion dollars profit per year. their concern would only be piqued if our nearly 8000 members were involved in a class action lawsuit, otherwise...were just a number!

buster: Take a deep breath. You have to find humor in commercials. I do believe this was a direct jab at Mobil. Can't think of two oil companies that dislike each other as much as Mobil and Castrol.

drive it forever & lewk: You are both 100% correct.

I know, they all do it. Not just big oil companies either.

Any form of marketing has it's quirky BS to it. Didn't mean to strictly point out the giants.

Out here in Poland Castrol runs an ad for its GTX Magnatec product (synth. blend, I believe) making it seem as if it's the only oil in the world that "clings" to engine surfaces and therefore prevents wear at cold startup. Sad thing is, many people believe it.

I think your time would be better spent worrying about McGreasers attempting to pull in your children with play areas, kids meals with toys, etc.

On another note, my EOM and CVX stocks are doing pretty well, so they're doing something right.

Is this the castrol commercial where the car is dragging the huge anchor because the sludge is holding it back? The one where the cops are holding up the rader gun laughing because the car is only going 16mph.

No. It's about a dressed up yuppie that gets into the car, starts it up and revvs it up as if he was about to run a 1/4 mile.

The announcer says something about 75% of all engine wear occuring at startup and that Magnatec can prevent it.

Guys, I like the Dog and the Ford Pick-up commercial with 130000 miles on the Ford. Castrol High Mileage Oils were being promoted.

The dog says, He thinks this is his truck, It's MY truck. I think this ad will sell alot of Castrol High Mileage Oil.
