I haven't used Castrol GTX in about 7 years since I put it in my Parents 1999 Altima. I see the price of a jug at Wally World is now $19, a $1 less than I pay for QSUD. Is it really that good or is it just as good or bad as other conventionals???

I firmly believe price is really the only reason not to buy that oil. I would have no issues running it, I just have issues paying what they're asking.
On sale, I'd use it for sure. Lately I've been getting good deals on Sopus and Valvoline oils so I'm using them. If GTX were go go on for $10 a jug I'd buy some..

I like it. And most of the other Conventional oil`s we have today. How does the saying go?...."its all good!"

It's absolutely fine, though I agree the price doesn't make it very competitive. For the extra $1 I'd much rather use QSUD.

GTX is good stuff!! but QSUD would kick the [censored] out of GTX in a fight.

stick with QSUD unless GTX goes on sale

Other than cold cranking and the price it should be a fair choice. Me the cold cranking turns me off.$1.00 syn. vs dino ?? difference.

The new castrol products seem to have a higher pour point and not so good cold weather characteristics. I personally wouldn't use it here with the cold weather we get in the winter.

Most peoples not buy it cause of the price. It's good oil. I alway run it since I change oil twice a year few dollar more made no different. My family been using Castrol oil way before we came to American. I choose gtx for Dino . For hm I choose Castrol gtx high miles . For synthetic I choose German Castrol 0w30. I running nothing else Castrol have everything I need that y I never switch brand

Even though it's probably very good oil, it's too close (in price) to synthetics at WM. I guess BP has to pay for the gulf oil spill somehow. I'd stick with QSUD.

I use to run QSUD I bought 2 jug for 10 dollar each, last me 2 years, then I switch back to castrol gtx HM and I feel more quiet and better, mabe because im a fan of castrol ^^

The last 5qt jug of Castrol GTX I bought was only about .50 cents more than a 5qt jug of Quaker State GB.

The price shot up more than $5 shortly after that.

I chose the GTX over the Quaker State because of my long running history with GTX. But there is no way in [heck] I believe that GTX is $5.00 better than QSGB. IMHO, Quaker State is probably the same base stock as Pennzoil Yellow Bottle and 90% of the ad-packs. That to me would be a pretty [darn] good oil.

So if the BP social media people are monitoring this, you just lost a customer and any word of mouth I may have provided with your HUGE overnight price increase. If the SOPUS social media people are monitoring this, keep on doing just what you are doing.

It is great, considering most HM oils are conventionals
